The pair’s new multi-entertainment space opens its doors full-time on March 7th

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood officially welcome the public to their Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk as the venue celebrates its grand opening tonight (Thurs, Mar 7th). At 55 thousand square feet, the multi-entertainment space is the largest complex on Nashville’s Lower Broadway district Brooks has nicknamed after his new single and docuseries theme, “Neon Neighborhood.”

During a press event earlier in the day, Brooks spoke about how the bar will be different than the other honky-tonks in the area because of those who helped shape his career.

“I think that’s what I love most about this, too, between you guys, between the people working here, the people building it, their knowledge of country music and the history of it, and the respect of it is every brick and every wood that’s in this place,” Brooks says. “I’m real excited about this place’s future.”

Spanning four floors, Friends In Low Places offers a unique blend of tradition and innovation. The first two floors pay tribute to classic honky-tonks with the most advanced audio-visual technology and a one-of-a-kind live music stage. The third-floor houses intimate private event spaces, echoing the cozy atmosphere of Garth and Trisha’s home. The Oasis features the largest rooftop in the area, offering a beachy paradise with unmatched views. Each level delivers an unparalleled experience, merging heartfelt hospitality with cutting-edge entertainment and artifacts from Garth’s career.

Paying tribute to his roots, Garth enlists the help of his friends, day-one tour team, and an all-star hospitality group to open the epic, four-story bar. The “friends” include brothers Benjamin and Max Goldberg and Jenny Deathridge Bratt and Camille Tambunting. The Goldbergs are the prolific family behind Nashville’s culinary and nightlife explosion, overseeing all aspects of the hospitality at Friends In Low Places while Bratt and Tambunting are the powerhouse leading ladies of Strategic Hospitality and the brothers’ go-to, boots-on-the-ground team overseeing the Friends In Low Places build-out. These women wear many hard hats working across all aspects and with every team.

While many expect Brooks to make a surprise appearance at tonight’s grand opening, the country star says he and Ms. Yearwood will be in bed, but his hospitality team will be in full force.

”I’m gonna be sleeping,” he quips when we asked whether he may drop in to the bar tonight. “I’m gonna be so asleep. I’m gonna be asleep before I leave here. These guys have done the whole thing in the 11th hour. I kid you not, if anybody was in here a week ago, that roof – – that roof looked like it was gonna be another six months. I don’t know how they did it, but I do know the one thing they didn’t do is sleep. We’re all laughing at Ben and Max and Camille and Jenny because their work starts tonight, and we’re going home and going to bed.”

Transitioning from its “under construction” menu featuring an assortment of “Garth’s Favorites,” the grand opening of Friends In Low Places will feature menus created by Trisha Yearwood. Drawing from the success of Trisha’s Southern Kitchen and her array of best-selling cookbooks, the offerings throughout the four floors of the venue promise a selection of familiar and new dishes. If you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like to pull a chair to the dinner table in Trisha’s kitchen, the Meat and Three will take you there. Your choice of Mama’s Meatloaf or Fried Chicken with white gravy and choice of three sides all from the heart of the Yearwood family kitchen.

“I don’t think I’ve ever made a recipe from somebody else,” Yearwood shares. “I’ve written this recipe, it makes perfect sense to me. It might make absolutely no sense to you, so it’s the process of getting on the same page. We’re working on this thing for the private event floor and basically, there will be a sausage and biscuit meatball. The recipe says to mix it until it’s smooth. Well, the chef mixed it until it was smooth, and you don’t do that. You just kinda mix until it comes together and it’s pretty chunky and whatever, so it’s that kinda stuff. I’ve said many times my exotic spices are salt and pepper, so we’re keeping it simple… You might not see me down here, but I’m gonna be in that kitchen, and I have the toughest critic here. He’s the first guy to say, ‘That’s good, but it’s not her’s,’ so we gotta get it right.”

Friends in Low Places is located at 411 Broadway, and is from 11 am until 2 am Monday through Thursday and 10 am until 2 am on Saturday and Sunday, while the food menu is planned to be available from 11 am until 9 pm, seven days a week.

Brooks, Yearwood, and the “friends” can all be seen in the newly launched docuseries, Friends in Low Places, which takes viewers inside the building of the bar and beyond. A new episode is slated to premiere each week via Prime Video.
