The set features four renditions of Christmas classics
Hunter Hayes announced his forthcoming holiday EP, Evergreen Christmas Sessions, out Friday, November 7th. The announcement comes shortly after Hayes teased the project during a live Zoom on the Official Hunter Hayes App, giving his fans a first listen and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the EP.
Blending his signature heartfelt storytelling and genre-bending musicianship, Hayes reimagines four beloved holiday favorites. From the upbeat sparkle of “Winter Wonderland” and the electrifying energy of “Run Run Rudolph” to the timeless comfort of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and the gentle warmth of “Silent Night,” the collection showcases his expansive artistry. The soundtrack feels both classic and distinctly his own. With rich instrumentation, soulful vocals, and a touch of holiday spirit, the EP celebrates togetherness, joy, and the enduring essence of Christmas.
“Creating this project felt really special and full circle, as I revisited some holiday music I recorded as a kid,” Hayes shares. “We happened to have a few days off during tour, and this was the first time we were able to record together as a band. We wanted to try something different, so we gave the project a ‘calm Christmas’ vibe with a chill, dreamy, jazz-inspired take on the season. For me, Christmas music has always been about spending time with the people you love, and I hope this project becomes part of those moments.”
This announcement follows Hayes’ recent collaboration with a cappella group Straight No Chaser on their new holiday single, “Christmas Is Different,” where he also surprised fans as a special guest during the group’s performance at the Ryman Auditorium. Continuing the holiday cheer, Hayes will perform at Louisiana Christmas Day on November 30th.
