The concert was delayed for 40 minutes
An Illinois man has been charged with a felony after he threatened to shoot two individuals at Morgan Wallen’s Friday night (Aug 2nd) at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.
Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker says that 23-year-old Aaron Brown of Winchester, Illinois faces a Class E felony of making a terrorist threat in the second degree towards Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. Both players were in attendance along with Chris Jones.
According to court records, Kansas City police detectives and intelligence analysts in the Kansas City Fusion Center working at GEHA Field at Arrowhead were monitoring threats at the concert when they observed one against two individuals, who were members of the Kansas City Chiefs organization and were present at the event, on X/Twitter.
“Mr. [redacted] at Arrowhead with the wife. If he brings out [redacted] or [redacted], I’ll take the fuckin shot. Fuck em! Also, fuck you bitch!! (hand emoji with middle finger up twice) @ [redacted],” the social media post reads for an account that has since been removed from the X platform.
The Kansas City FBI issued an emergency discloser request by X which revealed Brown as the account holder. Detectives were provided a cell phone number believed to be belonging to Brown. Brown answered and voluntarily told offices where he was seated. Plain clothes officers responded to the section which resulted in a negative attempt to locate the suspect. However, Brown and his girlfriend were spotted walking from the area later and Brown was taken into custody.
The concert was delayed for 40 minutes while the defendant was located. Brown was charged on Saturday with a bond of $15,000.
If convicted, Brown could face one to four years of imprisonment by the Missouri Department of Corrections or up to a year in a county jail, a fine of $10,000, or both.
