Four new songs are available
The new bonus track version of the soundtrack to Paramount’s Mean Girls musical is out now via Interscope Records. The Mean Girls (Bonus Track Version) soundtrack features four new songs including “Stupid With Love (Reprise)” by Angourie Rice and The Cast of Mean Girls. Released earlier this year on January 12th, Mean Girls held the No. 1 spot at the domestic box office for three consecutive weeks and grossed $100 million at the global box office. The movie is also officially available to stream video on demand as Paramount Pictures is set to release the film on 4K, Blu-ray and DVD on April 30th.
Based on the 2018 Broadway musical adaptation of the beloved 2004 film, the Mean Girls soundtrack features the vocal talents of a number of the movie’s stars, including Reneé Rapp reprising her debut Broadway role as Regina George, Angourie Rice as Cady Heron, Auli’i Cravalho as Janis ‘Imi’ike, Jaquel Spivey as Damian Hubbard, Avantika as Karen Shetty, Bebe Wood as Gretchen Wieners, and more. The soundtrack also boasts the hit record “Not My Fault” by Reneé Rapp and Megan Thee Stallion, which was released in December of last year. “Not My Fault” earned Rapp’s highest-ever day-one streams on Spotify to date with over 984,000 streams within the first 24 hours, five million streams within the first weekend globally, and now at over 52 million streams across all platforms.
New student Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) is welcomed into the top of the social food chain by the elite group of popular girls called “The Plastics,” ruled by the conniving queen bee Regina George (Reneé Rapp) and her minions Gretchen (Bebe Wood) and Karen (Avantika). However, when Cady makes the major misstep of falling for Regina’s ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney), she finds herself prey in Regina’s crosshairs. As Cady sets to take down the group’s apex predator with the help of her outcast friends Janis (Auli’i Cravalho) and Damian (Jaquel Spivey), she must learn how to stay true to herself while navigating the most cutthroat jungle of all: high school.
