Country star will perform two songs during patriotic special
Jake Owen has been added as a performer for PBS’ A Capitol Fourth. Owen will perform “American Country Love Song” and “Down To The Honky Tonk” with the National Symphony Orchestra during the broadcast on Monday, July 4th from 8-9:30 pm ET/PT.
“I can’t wait to celebrate the Fourth in DC this year,” Owen shares. “It’s exciting to be a part of a great American tradition, and to sing a couple songs while I’m at it. See you on Monday night!”
A Capitol Fourth is America’s longest-running live national Independence Day TV tradition and can be heard in stereo over NPR member stations nationwide. The special will also be streaming on YouTube and at pbs.org.
Mickey Guyton will serve as host of the 42nd edition of America’s birthday celebration. Guyton will lead an all-star cast in a patriotic evening of unrivaled musical performances by top stars from pop, country, R&B, classical and Broadway featuring the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of premier pops conductor Jack Everly.
This national tradition, returning live from Washington, DC, puts viewers front and center for America’s biggest birthday party with the greatest display of fireworks anywhere in the USA lighting up the iconic DC skyline. Additional talent announcements will be coming soon.
A Capitol Fourth will also air to our troops serving around the world on the American Forces Network. The program can also be heard in stereo over NPR member stations nationwide and will be streaming on YouTube and available as Video on Demand for a limited time only from July 4-18th.
