Joe Nichols throws out first pitch at St. Louis Cardinals

The country star has been a longtime fan of the team

Multi-platinum country star and longtime St. Louis Cardinals fan, Joe Nichols, threw out the first pitch at Busch Stadium today (Thurs, June 26th), ahead of the Cardinals game against the Chicago Cubs. Joining him on the mound were Cardinals’ pitcher Matt Svanson and Cardinals’ Mascot Fredbird.

“What a great morning!” Nichols shared before heading to Wisconsin for a show.

The Rogers, Arkansas native and Quartz Hill Records recording artist is one of country music’s modern traditionalist who is both timely and timeless with 2.1 billion cumulative audio streams and eight million RIAA-certified units sold in the States alone, a half-dozen No. 1 singles, 10 Top 10 hits and a sound that blurs the boundaries between country music’s past and present. It’s an approach that has earned Nichols three Grammy nominations, an Emmy Award, a CMA Award, an ACM trophy, a CMT “Breakthrough Video of the Year” Award, as well as multiple gold and platinum-certified records.

Nichols’ 11th career studio album, Honky Tonks and Country Songs, is available now and includes the Annie Bosko duet “Better Than You,” a Top 40 hit at U.S. country radio.
