Trek supports new studio album
Joe Satriani is more than ready to get back to live shows and playing for his legions of fans across the world. The US leg of his worldwide Earth Tour will get things started with the tour set to launch on September 21st in Riverside, CA and continues through November 19th with a final date in the States set for Dallas. Satriani will then head to Europe for rescheduled shows in early 2023. Tickets for the US dates will be on-sale this Friday, April 1st via Ticketmaster.
Satriani’s touring band consists of Kenny Aronoff on drums, Bryan Beller on bass and Rai Thistlethwayte on keyboards.
Satriani will release The Elephants of Mars on April 8th, marking the legendary guitarist’s 19th studio album in his 35+ year career in music.
In 2020 with all time constraints removed, The Elephants of Mars truly represents the album that Satriani himself hoped he could deliver with his band.
“We did everything. We tried the craziest ideas. And we entertained every notion we had about turning something backwards, upside down, seeing what could happen,” he says.
The set will be available on limited CD featuring seven double sided cards of original artwork by Satriani representing each song from the album. In addition, several colored vinyl options will be available, including standard black, orange, pink and a special purple version sold through Guitar Center only.
Earlier this month, Satriani unveiled an NFT collection inspired by his Crystal Planet comic book series. Crystal Planet NFTs are going to be available via Sweet with prices starting at $0.99. The collection includes virtual collectors cards, some rarities feature animation and original audio elements from Satriani, bringing the comic art to life through a new medium and expanding the world of Crystal Planet in the digital space, alongside physical print and collectibles.
