The duo saddle up for new barroom anthem
Texas country traditionalist Jon Wolfe and celebrated frontman Randy Rogers join forces on “Tequila Cowboys,” a raucous, neon-lit anthem destined to become a honky-tonk staple. Written by Jon Wolfe, Randy Rogers, Dave Brainard, and Tony Ramey, and produced by Brainard, “Tequila Cowboys” raises a glass to the weekend warriors who trade in their day jobs for barstools and dance floors once the sun goes down. Wolfe and Rogers deliver a singalong celebration of friendship, freedom, and good whiskey-fueled fun.
“Tequila Cowboys” follows Wolfe’s July release of nostalgia-laced “The Older I Get (More Country I’m Gettin’ To Be).” With a warm throwback feel, lyrical nods to country legends, and a chorus built for backroads and beer joints, the single is a love letter to small-town roots and the enduring power of country values.
On August 10th, Wolfe hosted Jon Wolfe and Friends: Hill Country Flood Relief Benefit in partnership with Gruene Hall and KNBT 92.1 FM to raise money for those affected by the recent flooding in Kerr County and the surrounding areas. The evening, which raised over $115,000, featured performances by Tracy Byrd, Kevin Fowler, Roger Creager, William Beckmann, Radney Foster, Kelly Willis, Jake Worthington, Kylie Frey, Bleu Edmondson, Billie Jo Jones, Walker Montgomery, David Lewis, Clay Hollis, and Cody Hibbard.
