Justin Timberlake premieres ‘Selfish,’ announces ‘Everything I Thought It Was’

Timberlake premiered a new song during a free hometown concert

Justin Timberlake is prepping to release his sixth studio album, Everything I Thought It Was. The pop superstar teased the project with a free hometown performance at Orpheum Theater in Memphis on Friday night (Jan 19th) before releasing the album’s trailer, narrated by actor Benicio Del Toro.

The trailer features a model gas station and a car against a desert background with a sunset. “What do we have here? Oh, that’s a nice car. Wait! It’s a model. Did that say JT? That sunset is definitely not real. Oh, there’s Justin. Why won’t he turn around? What the f— is he staring at?” Del Toro says in the trailer.

The 1800 fans who attended the “One Night Only” event were also treated to a snippet of a disco-esque song that is expected to appear on the project.

Timberlake will appear on the January 25th edition of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and be the musical guest on the January 27th episode of Saturday Night Live (SNL).

Further details about the album are forthcoming.

Timberlake and his former *NSYNC bandmates also recently reunited to record an original song for Trolls Band Together. The 90s pop boyband has contributed “Better Place” for the upcoming Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation film Trolls Band Together, starring the band’s Justin Timberlake as Branch. The band is profiled in the bonus features on the Trolls Band Together Sing-Along Edition available on Digital, 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD on January 16th from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.
