Multi-talented singer, songwriter, and artist Kat Von D has released a music video for the track “Por Ti” from her upcoming sophomore album My Side Of The Mountain. Kat Von D was born in Mexico, and the “Por Ti” single is sung in Spanish and pays homage to her Latina roots. She has previously released two other Spanish tracks including covers of Selena’s “Fotos y Recuerdos” and The Cure’s iconic track, “Lovesong.” “Por Ti” will be the only Spanish track on My Side Of The Mountain and will be included on the digital and physical versions of the new full-length, which is out September 20th.
“Por Ti” was penned by Kat Von D and Latin Grammy Award-winning writer Bobby Castro, who, after moving to LA from Michoacán, has experienced massive success, including penning the new LAFC Anthem. The indie dance energy of “Por Ti” carries a passionate message of intense devotion to a loved one, with heartfelt lyrics such as ‘y a la ves moriria por ti’, meaning “at the same time, I would die for you.” Kat Von D’s signature blend of disco goth, heavily influenced by synth-wave, new wave, post-punk, and other iconic electronic sounds of the 80s, sets her music apart. Her lyrics, born from her experiences of love, darkness, and vulnerability, aim to captivate listeners with a mesmerizing musical style that seduces with its ethereal and romantically macabre charm. As the September 20th release date quickly approaches, Kat Von D has rolled out multiple singles and music videos in anticipation of the album.
