Tour kicks off this summer with an album this fall

Actor Keanu Reeves’ Los Angeles-based, independent rock band Dogstar has announced that they will release their first album in two decades, Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees, on October 6th via their own label Dillon Street Records with distribution through ADA. The album’s first single “Everything Turns Around” is available now. Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees is also available for purchase as signed, limited edition colored vinyl in the band’s official shop.

“We are so excited to re-introduce Dogstar with our new single ‘Everything Turns Around.’ It feels like a fun summer song to us,” Dogstar says of the track. “It has an uplifting message and a positive vibe that hopefully makes your day a little bit lighter. It’s one of our favorite songs to play live and can’t wait to share it on our upcoming tour.”

In tandem with the announcement of the project, the band has debuted the music video for “Everything Turns Around.” The performance-driven music video further pays homage to their LA roots.

This summer, Dogstar will kick off a 25+ city headline Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees Tour. Beginning August 10th in Hermosa Beach, CA with a run of west coast dates across cities like Las Vegas, Salt Lake City and Denver through the end of the month, they will then take their live show overseas for three dates in Japan in early September. They will resume their North American dates in December in cities like Chicago, Toronto, New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, DC and Atlanta before concluding on December 20th in Nashville.

Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets beginning Wednesday, July 19th at 2 pm ET/11 am PT until Thursday, July 20th at 10 pm local time through the Citi Entertainment program. Tickets for all North American shows go on sale Friday, July 21st at 10 am local time.

“When creating this record, we were so excited about the idea of playing it live so we are thrilled to finally announce the Somewhere Between The Power Lines and Palm Trees Tour and to soon play for our fans all over North America and Japan,” the band shares.

Last night (Tues, July 18th), Dogstar took over the Sunset Strip with an intimate, high-energy show at the iconic Roxy Theatre to usher in the release of the new single and album announcement. The show sold out in minutes upon being announced last week. Throughout their 90-minute set, lucky fans got a sneak peek into their new era of music and live show.

Here in 2023, Dogstar epitomizes the quintessential Southern California storytelling rock band they’ve always been in their hearts, making deeply resonant music that literally comes from Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees – the name of their new album which arrives October 6th via their own label Dillon Street Records. Comprised of guitarist/vocalist Bret Domrose, drummer Robert Mailhouse and bassist Keanu Reeves, Dogstar was born in 1991 as a band of friends who came together in a garage in Southern California and simply dreamed of playing music together and making a little noise.

Now, all these years later, Domrose, Mailhouse and Reeves took some time at the tail end of an historic lockdown to create this collection of songs that fully encompasses who they are as artists today. The happily reunited rock trio’s official return came in May 2023 – more than 20 years since their last performance together – with their first public performance at the BottleRock Napa Valley music festival with a set that sparked fan and critical praise alike, including the live debut of their lead single “Everything Turns Around,” which was officially released July 19th.
