Stars gather to help raise critical funds and awareness for brain disease
Keep Memory Alive has announced an esteemed lineup of entertainers to celebrate and honor country music sensation Blake Shelton at the 27th annual Power of Love gala on Friday, May 10th at MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Set to perform at the star-studded event raising funds for Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health include country singer and Alzheimer’s awareness advocate Jay Allen, Colbie Caillat, Kristin Chenoweth, Andy Grammer, Mickey Guyton, Gary LeVo, and Cassadee Pope.
As the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health commemorates its 15th anniversary, it continues to be “Powered by Love,” using philanthropic support to find, fund, and facilitate the most effective and innovative research, treatment, and educational support programming for patients and their families affected by brain disorders, including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease, multiple system atrophy and multiple sclerosis.
Since opening its doors in 2009, the center has helped bring five new treatments for multiple sclerosis and the first Alzheimer’s treatment to be fully approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in more than 20 years to market, while providing 116,200 visits to no-cost educational, therapeutic and support programming.
“There are nearly 6,000 lives currently in our care, and all of them have benefitted, in some way, from the funds raised at this event, whether it’s getting access to a new treatment or help with transportation to and from their appointment,” states Dylan Wint, M.D., director of the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. “We are so grateful to this incredible lineup of performers who are lending their voice to support families that are or will be impacted by neurodegenerative diseases in the future.”
Renowned chefs Wolfgang Puck, a supporter of Keep Memory Alive since its inception, and Evan Funke of the acclaimed Mother Wolf at Fontainebleau Las Vegas, will create exclusive dishes for the gala with each course expertly paired with wines selected by master sommeliers from Southern Glazer’s Wine, Spirits & Beer of Nevada.
