Kelly Clarkson is set to join NBC’s The Voice for the show’s 14th season. She will be joined by fellow coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine on the network’s three-time Emmy Award-winning series. The show’s fourth judge will be announced at a later date.

Shelton revealed the news to fans on Facebook Live Thursday (May 11th) afternoon.

“Yesterday, we found out– America did, that Jennifer Hudson is going to be the fourth coach for this fall on The Voice, which will be season 13,” he says. “We also know that Miley Cyrus will be a coach this fall, season 13, along with Adam [Levine] and me. So this fall is Jennifer Hudson, Miley Cyrus, me and the moron, Adam, but you know, because we never want to let a day go by around here without a big announcement for everybody, I thought I would get on Facebook Live and tell y’all some more big news.”

Shelton pauses as a plane flies over his outdoor location.

“I want to talk to you all about next spring which will be season 14 of The Voice, that’s what we need to talk about,” he continues. “We found out some big news today and decided why not share it with America, the fans of The Voice. And I have taken it upon myself to be the one to break this news to y’all because this person is a very near and dear friend of mine.

“I’m done having children so now I can join The Voice.”

“This person is somebody I consider to be family and this person is extremely talented — very awarded by the music industry, and we have felt as a family at The Voice that this person would fit in perfectly into our family. We’ve actually been trying to work this out for a long time. It’s finally all come together. I’m going to make the big announcement right now. Ladies and gentlemen, meet one of the coaches for season 14 next spring for the voice, here they are…”

“Hey, I’m finally not knocked up and I can join your show,” she says as she joins Shelton via FaceTime on Facebook Live. “I’m done having children so now I can join The Voice. I’m excited. Blake was telling you all I’ve been excited about this for a few years now, but the timing hasn’t been right.”

On Wednesday (May 10th), multi-award winner Jennifer Hudson was named as a coach for the 13th season of The Voice, which will air in the fall. She will be joined by Miley Cyrus, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

It was rumored Clarkson would join the American Idol revival on ABC next spring as sources tell TMZ that ABC had expressed “serious interest” in the season one winner joining the show as a judge. The report continues to say that Clarkson’s schedule had been cleared to work the deal out.

Clarkson is currently in the studio working on her highly anticipated new album, her first for Atlantic Records, which will be released later this year. The album will draw from the inspiration of soul and R&B as the foundation to her endearing lyrics and powerhouse vocals.
