New single and video available now

Kid Cudi shares a new track entitled “Stars In The Sky” from the upcoming film Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The record, which was produced by Take A Daytrip and Dot Da Genius, serves as the only original song in the film.

The accompanying video made its global broadcast premiere on various Paramount linear channels in the US, including MTV, MTV Live, MTVU, BET Jams, and Nick Music as well as on the Paramount Times Square billboard.

The rapper delivers an inimitable and infectious intergalactic anthem buoyed by fittingly cinematic production and a signature magnetic melody. Lyrically, he nods to a handful of classics, “This is my heaven baby, day and night in my zone,” and takes to the skies on the hook, “I’m out I’m rollin. Til the stars in the sky. Babe I’m home.” The accompanying visual intercuts the superstar with new footage from the upcoming film.

It marks the GRAMMY Award-winning multi-Platinum sonic visionary’s first original music since his seventh full-length studio album and the third installment of his legendary Man On The Moon series, Man On The Moon III: The Chosen, released via Republic Records.

The world’s favorite blue hedgehog is back for a next-level adventure in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.

From the filmmakers behind The Fast and the Furious and Deadpool, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 stars James Marsden, Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Lee Majdoub and Jim Carrey returning, alongside new additions Shemar Moore, with Idris Elba as the voice of Knuckles and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as the voice of Tails.

The film opens in theaters April 8th via Paramount Pictures.
