The group is helping aid the Las Vegas mass shooting victims
In light of the horrific tragedy that occurred in Las Vegas on October 1st, Kings of Leon has pledged unwavering support for Las Vegas. The band has announced that all net proceeds from their show tonight (Fri, Oct 6th) in Las Vegas at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will be donated to The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee’s Music City Cares Fund. The donation to the CFMT fund will be directed to support Las Vegas nonprofits helping with immediate and long-term needs of the Route 91 Harvest festival shooting victims.
“Following the horrific events of this past weekend in Las Vegas, which have touched so many here and beyond, including members of our own Hard Rock Las Vegas family, we are honored to help the victims, their families and first responders for their heroic efforts,” says Jody Lake, chief operating officer at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas.

Fifty-nine people were killed with hundreds more injured after 64-year-old white male Stephen Paddock of Mesquite, NV, began firing automatic weapons from the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino around 10:08 pm PT to a crowd of twenty-two thousand on the streets below during the final night of the Route 91 Harvest Festival. Country star Jason Aldean was performing during the incident and rushed off stage after about ten seconds after shots began, according to various videos circulating on social media. No artists, band members or crew members were injured in the event.
Forty-thousand fans were in attendance throughout the three day event, marking the largest Route 91 Harvest Festival crowd to date. Jake Owen, Big & Rich, Luke Combs and many other artists were at the site when the shooting began. So far, no artists, band members or crew members were among the injured.
A GoFundMe account has been set up for the victims. The account was established by Las Vegas Clark County Commission Chair Steve Sisolak and has raised more than $9.5 million and counting as of press time. The Oakland Raiders have donated $50,000 to the fund with Florida Georgia Line, Kid Rock, The Chainsmokers and boxing legend Mike Tyson all donating $10,000 each to it. GoFundMe itself has also donated $150,000 towards the assistance.
