Lindsay Ell announces ‘Fence Sitter’ EP

The project will drop this fall

Award-winning artist and songwriter Lindsay Ell announces her new EP, Fence Sitter, for release on October 3rd via Universal Music Canada. Ell shares “Magic,” an optimistic pop affirmation about self-belief from an artist a decade into her career.

Co-written by Lindsay Ell, Mags Duval, and Teddy Reimer and produced by Ell’s close collaborator Doug Schadt, “Magic” shares Ell’s perspective on perseverance over a steady, pulsing rhythm, echoing the belief that even in life’s darkest times, a breakthrough may just be waiting for you on the other side.

“I always believed that if you apply yourself to something hard enough, you can make it happen,” Ell shares. “‘Magic’ is a reminder to believe that you just need to keep going and you’ll find those moments of joy and accomplishment.”

Adding to her catalogue of relatable, vulnerable, and honest songwriting, Ell’s upcoming Fence Sitter EP explores themes such as knowing when to let go, reclaiming her truth, questioning motherhood, and keeping faith in herself. The striking collection of songs shows Ell boldly following the path she began with last year’s EP Love Myself. She continues to peel back the layers of her heart and mind with evocative vocals, cathartic pop melodies, and her signature guitar solos.

Known for her virtuosic guitar work and magnetic stage presence, Lindsay Ell has spent the summer performing her powerful pop anthems to fans across the U.S. and Canada and has graced stages alongside Shania Twain as her lead guitarist – a role Ell has proudly held since 2024. Last week, Ell returned to her hometown for an electric performance at The Calgary Stampede before making her way east, playing to fans across Canada. This weekend, Ell takes the stage at Festival D’Été de Québec and Ottawa Bluesfest before heading to Toronto for two back-to-back shows and continuing to tour throughout August.
