Mackenzie Carpenter drops electric ‘Country Girls (Just Wanna Have Fun)’ remix

The country newcomer was named to Spotify’s 2024 Hot Country Artists to Watch

Country newcomer recently named one of Spotifyโ€™s 10 Hot Country Artists To Watch 2024, Mackenzie Carpenter drops a new dance version โ€œCountry Girls (Just Wanna Have Fun) Remix,โ€ available now via The Valory Music Co. Carpenter turns up the fun on her โ€œCountry Girls (Just Wanna Have Fun)โ€ infusing euphoric beat-drops into the songโ€™s good timing mix of twang and bass.

โ€œCountry Girls (Just Wanna Have Fun) Remix,โ€ with its contagious melody is readymade for a night out on the town from the pre-game playlist to the GNO montage the next day. Written by Mackenzie, her brother Micah Carpenter, Kyle Clark, Ben Williams and Robert Hazard (โ€œGirls Just Wanna Have Funโ€), and produced by Julian Bunetta, the country take on Cyndi Lauperโ€™s โ€˜80s classic directly reflects the Georgia nativeโ€™s fun-loving and affable personality and ability to turn a phrase.

โ€œMy parents surprised everybody at my wedding by learning the choreography to the song and the whole place erupted into a cheers and dancingโ€”it was a moment Iโ€™ll never forget,โ€ Carpenter shares. โ€œWith the remix, I wanted to just kick it up that much more. I hope it becomes a soundtrack for good times.โ€

Carpenter is coming off a strong 2023 after being recognized in numerous Artist To Watch programs, making her Grand Ole Opry debut, releasing her self-titled debut EP, and marrying the love of her life. With more up her sleeve in 2024, the young talent is coming into her own, aiming to stay top of mind by continuing to cross milestones. After recently wrapping The Lucky Tour with her โ€œIโ€™m Not Prettyโ€ co-writer and friend, Megan Moroney, Carpenter is currently writing and working on new music.
