The duo will perform the new song on tour
Multi-platinum Mercury Nashville duo Maddie & Tae are sharing their carefree kiss-off “Free Like,” available everywhere now via Mercury Nashville. Written by Maddie Font, Deric Ruttan, Parker Welling, and Casey Brown, the song is produced by Josh Kerr.
Bold and self-assured, the pair sing “Free like a hippie, free like a fire / Free like a bird on a telephone wire / Free like a Chevy on a don’t-look-back road / Bye Bye My Baby on the radio / Head spinnin’ in the dust I leave / Boy, you ain’t ever seen free like me / Free like me.”
“‘Free Like’ really represents the freedom we have found and the confidence we have arrived at in this season of life,” share Maddie & Tae. “With 15 years of friendship under our belts, to now being mothers, we feel so secure and grounded in who we are and what we do. Our fans have grown up with us the last decade and our hope is this song makes them feel as empowered as it made us feel writing and recording it. We are in a season of life where our confidence and tenacity are unshakable and ‘Free Like’ describes that feeling perfectly.”
“Free Like” follows Maddie & Tae’s recent release “Sad Girl Summer,” as well as newly announced fall dates of their Here’s To Friends Tour. Their headlining run continues through October, with this weekend’s stops in Mulvane, KS tonight (Fri, July 19th) and Clear Lake, IA tomorrow (July 20th).
