Melissa Etheridge shares ‘Don’t You Want a Woman’

The new single kicks off her partnership with the Kansas City Current

Grammy Award-winning rock icon, Melissa Etheridge, announces the release of her new single, “Don’t You Want A Woman,” out now on all streaming platforms via Primary Wave.

Etheridge has been showcasing the electrifying new song, which she produced alongside Shooter Jennings, on the road this summer during her co-headlining tour with the Indigo Girls, and fans can hear the single live through the remainder of dates, which wrap in two days in Phoenix.

The release of “Don’t You Want A Woman” also kicks off Etheridge’s powerhouse new partnership with the No. 1-ranked team in the National Women’s Soccer League, Kansas City Current. The collaboration will literally make waves throughout CPKC stadium – the first stadium purpose-built for a professional women’s sports team. The team will incorporate the song into the matchday experience as well as across its social channels.

“‘Don’t You Want A Woman’ is my long-awaited new single that has been four years in the making and was one of my favorite songs to write. Women are some of my favorite people and I don’t know anyone who doesn’t want a woman in their life who is going to rock their world in every way,” Etheridge shares. “When the KC Current reached out, we played ‘Don’t You Want A Woman’ and all of us just knew this was the song to describe the incredible group of strong women that make up the team. I am beyond thrilled to be partnering with them and can’t wait for fans to hear the song at upcoming games.”

Etheridge’s collaboration with the KC Current is particularly special, as the rocker will appear as the “KC Baby Chant Leader” in November. The Kansas native and long-time advocate for women’s sports will take center stage at CPKC Stadium on November 2nd to lead the crowd in the signature “K-C-Baby!” chant, igniting the energy and creating a powerful moment with fans just ahead of kickoff.
