More than 100,000 fans attended the two shows held last weekend

Metallica has made history in St. Louis after last weekend’s No Repeat Weekend on the group’s two-year-long M72 World Tour. More than 100,000 tickets were sold to the band’s two gigs on Friday, November 3rd, and Sunday, November 5th at The Dome at Americas Center, setting the record for most tickets sold for any event since the venue opened in 1995.

The group surpasses Garth Brooks, who held the record since selling out the venue in November 2018 with more than 70,000 fans attending his March 2019 stadium performance.

Presented worldwide by Liquid Death and Blackened American Whiskey, in North America only, and promoted by Live Nation, Metallica’s M72 World Tour sees the band playing two nights in every city it visits with each No Repeat Weekend featuring two completely different setlists and support lineups. The trek will play 44 shows in 22 cities around the world through 2024, and feature Pantera, Mammoth WVH, Architects, Five Finger Death Punch, Ice Nine Kills and Greta Van Fleet at select stops.

The M72 tour features a bold new in-the-round stage design that relocates the famed Metallica Snake Pit to center stage for a complete 360 view of the show, as well as the I Disappear full-tour pass and the debut of discounted tickets for fans under 16 years of age. Each weekend offers a variety of Enhanced Experiences, ranging from access to a meet and greet, production and stage tour, food and beverage in the “Black Box” lounge to early entry into the venue and the aforementioned Snake Pit.

A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold benefits the band’s All Within My Hands Foundation. Founded in 2017, AWMH’s efforts to assist and enrich the lives of members of the communities who have supported the band have raised nearly $13 million – providing $5.9 million in grants to career and technical education programs in the US, over $2.5 million to combat food insecurity, and more than $3.2 million to disaster relief efforts worldwide.

The tour is in support of Metallica’s 72 Seasons, released on April 14th via the band’s own Blackened Recordings. Produced by Greg Fidelman with Hetfield and Ulrich, and clocking in at over 77 minutes, the 12-track project is Metallica’s first full-length collection of new material since 2016’s Hardwired…To Self-Destruct.
