Just yesterday (Thurs, Nov 27th), Mr. Fantasy had his first-ever live performance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, playing his debut pop-funk self-titled single “Mr. Fantasy.” He made his entrance on the Jolly Polly Pirate Ship and greeted fans as he sailed through the iconic parade. The single has reached six million streams and counting, and has amassed over 200 million views and 13 million likes across TikTok and Instagram.
Mr. Fatansy is an eccentric synth-pop musician and viral TikTok sensation who debuted in August 2025. He is characterized by a 1970s-style British rockstar aesthetic, including a brunette bob wig, oversized sunglasses, false teeth, and an exaggerated British accent.
While unconfirmed, there is overwhelming public and media speculation that “Mr. Fantasy” is the alter ego of New Zealand actor KJ Apa, best known for playing Archie Andrews on the TV series Riverdale. Fans have pointed out similarities in tattoos, body type, and voice, and his manager has made veiled references to the actor.
He recently released his self-titled debut single, “Mr. Fantasy,” and a follow-up, “Wayuwanna,” both synth-pop tracks.
