The song marks the star’s first independently released music

Three-time, Grammy award-winning hitmaker Ne-Yo has released his new single “2 Million Secrets” via Compound Entertainment on all streaming platforms.

The release of “2 Million Secrets” also signals a new era for Ne-Yo, who is now an independent artist for the first time in his career. Starting with this new song, the hitmaker will have full creative control of his music as he steps into a new entrepreneurial chapter of his life.

“It’s a blessing to be in this position to control my own destiny as an independent artist,” the artist shares. “My artistry means everything to me and I’m excited to embrace this new beginning with ‘2 Million Secrets.’ It’s a personal song that took growth to write, but I’m proud to share it with the world.”

“2 Million Secrets” showcases Ne-Yo’s sensational and introspective songwriting capabilities. The song – which was produced by Hitmaka – highlights the Las Vegas native’s vulnerable side, especially as he croons about his passionate confessions and the ramifications of the secrets.

He originally previewed the new song during his acclaimed NPR Tiny Desk concert in April that generated nearly five million views to date. His dynamic set list also included chart-topping hits such as “So Sick,” “Sexy Love,” “Because of You” and “Miss Independent.”

The release of the new single is also fresh off the heels of the announcement of his upcoming Las Vegas residency. The Human Love Rebellion Residency will take place at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas on August 7, 9 and 10.

Most recently, the RIAA announced that Ne-Yo’s collaborative effort with Pitbull and Afrojack on “Give Me Everything” was certified diamond after selling ten million copies.
