Needtobreathe releases ‘I’ve Got a Story’ featuring Tori Kelly

The song is featured on the band’s new album

Needtobreathe has announced the release of their powerful new track, “I’ve Got A Story” featuring Tori Kelly, from the new album House of David: Season One (Music inspired by the Prime Video Original Series). Written by the band’s frontman Bear Rinehart and Kelly, the song delves into themes of personal struggle, redemption, and resilience, taking listeners on a journey from rock bottom to empowerment. Together, the pair deliver an uplifting anthem that balances vulnerability with strength, offering hope for those who have overcome adversity.

“I heard about the show and always felt connected to the story of David. I could always see myself in his story,” Rinehart says, “Sometimes beauty and brokenness can exist in the same place. The song ‘I’ve Got A Story’ is really my story.”

“’I’ve Got A Story’ is a song about struggle, perseverance, reflection, and triumph. I believe its message is relatable to so many people going through trials and tribulations in their lives,” Kelly. “I hope this song finds anyone who listens to it in a moment when they need it most, whether they’re going through a painful time or a moment of victory.”

House of David tells the story of the ascent of the biblical figure, David, who eventually becomes the most renowned and celebrated king of Israel. The series follows the once-mighty King Saul as he falls victim to his own pride. At the direction of God, the prophet Samuel anoints an unlikely, outcast teenager as the new king. As Saul loses his power over his kingdom, David finds himself on a journey to discover and fulfill his destiny, navigating love, loss, and violence in the court of the very man he’s destined to replace. As one leader falls, another must rise.

The biblical drama comes from visionary filmmakers and Wonder Project creative leaders Jon Erwin (Jesus Revolution, American Underdog) and Jon Gunn (Ordinary Angels). The series premieres on February 27th, on Prime Video with three episodes and one episode weekly thereafter in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
