Songs are from the forthcoming Caves album

Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum rock band Needtobreathe has released two of the most anticipated singles from their new album Caves.  ”Wasting Time” featuring country hitmakers Old Dominion and “Temporary Tears” featuring acclaimed Northern Irish singer-songwriter Foy Vance are available now.

“Wasting Time” was one of the first songs written for the band’s new album. “We wanted to have a fun rock song that would be exciting for the band to play live. We also love the energy our friends in Old Dominion bring to their shows and thought teaming up together on this one would take the song over the top,” the band comments, “It ended up being one of our favorite tracks on the record and will be a staple in our live show for a long time.”

“‘Wasting Time’ has all the elements that made me fall in love with Needtobreathe years and years ago,” says Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey, “They were always inspiring to me as a band, and getting to work with them on this song has shown me they are equally as inspiring as humans. Good people making good music. What a dream!”

For album closer “Temporary Tears,” the band tapped singer-songwriter and long-time friend Foy Vance. “We have been friends with Foy Vance for almost a decade now and believe he’s one of the greatest singers alive,” Needtobreathe comments. “It felt meant to be to have Foy sing on it with us. To hear him and Bear sing together is an extremely special thing.”

“I met Needtobreathe when they had just released Rivers in the Wasteland,” Vance explains, “As it happened I was traversing a wasteland of sorts at that time in my life and, not to put too fine a point on it, they were a river running through it. They took me in and treated me as one of their own and we’re remained close ever since. It is a genuine joy to be on this song with them.”

Due out September 15th, Caves is a collection of awe-inspiring melodies, breathtaking instrumentation and epic-scale energy, giving the band’s soul-probing approach a bigger, more expansive new scope. The album also features country hitmaker Carly Pearce and alternative rock band Judah & The Lion, who will be touring with Needtobreathe this fall.

Caves was written in two post-pandemic phases – first during their aforementioned getaway in Utah, where the group was finally able to get together again, and then again after they returned to the road, re-acclimating to massive crowds alongside OneRepublic. The making of the album was captured in a two-part documentary A World Without A Mirror: The Making of Caves.
