Song is first solo female rap track to debut on Billboard’s Hot 100 in 24 years

Diamond-selling hip hop icon Nicki Minaj makes history this week with her blockbuster new single “Super Freaky Girl” as it achieves a myriad of milestones. It bows at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 as she earns the first solo female rap track to debut at No. 1 since 1998. Minaj stands out as the first female lead artist to debut at No. 1 in 2022, the first female rapper with multiple No. 1 debuts, and the first female rapper to reach No. 1 without a video in over two years. It also conquers TikTok at No. 1 on Top US Tracks.

“Super Freaky Girl” tallied 21.1 million US streams, 4.6 million radio airplay audience impressions and 89,000 downloads sold in its first week between August 12-18, according to Luminate.

Scoring the Biggest Consumption Debut for a Lead Female Artist in 2022 and Biggest Sales Week for Any Single of 2022, this also marks her fourth digital No. 1 of 2022 — the most of any artist this year — and 12th digital No. 1 overall, enshrining her as the fifth artist to do so. She eclipses her own record for Biggest Digital Sales Week of Any Track in 2022, dethroning her own “Do We Have a Problem?” featuring Lil Baby. With 21 now, it also reaffirms her record as the female artist with the most Top 10 entries on the Hot 100 of all time.

Minaj has set the pace for the culture in 2022 with the biggest song of the year and paved the way for her massively anticipated fifth full-length album that’s coming soon.

Minaj will receive MTV’s Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award and perform for the first time since 2018 at the 2022 VMAs, airing live from Prudential Center on Sunday, August 28th at 8 pm ET/PT. The 17x nominated and 5x VMAs winner, who took home her first Moon Person for Best Hip Hop Video in 2011, is nominated this year for “Best Hip Hop.”

Earlier this month, her Amp radio show, Queen Radio, returned on Amazon’s new live radio app. Fans are able to listen to Minaj live through the app, and call in for a chance to ask her questions and interact with her directly. Full Queen Radio episodes are available worldwide to stream on Amazon Music in the days following the live show on Amp.
