Smokestack Town will be out on October 3rd
Kentucky’s favorite independent six-piece, Ole 60, announces their long-awaited debut album, Smokestack Town, out October 3rd via Three Twenty Four Records.
A concept album produced by Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Zach Bryan, Modest Mouse) and Justin Eckerd, Smokestack Town creates its own world – a fictional place based on the heart of America, where small town tropes spring to life through songs and characters, yielding real-world consequences.
In the album’s teaser trailer released earlier today, Ole 60 frontman and lyricist Jacob Ty Young is seen playing a menagerie of characters – from main player, Pizza Boy, to reclusive curmudgeon, Old Man Jacob. Each character is tied to a song on the record, adding to an overarching mystery that will play out over the course of its 11 songs.
Rooted in their own real-life lore, the pizza-delivering concept brings Ole 60’s history full circle. The band only exists because of their hometown pizza shop, Galaxy Pizza and BBQ in Hawesville, KY, where several band members worked between 2020 and 2023 without ever overlapping.
“We’ve been working on this project for the last few months and didn’t want to wait to get it to you,” Jacob shares. “These songs tell stories that all of us from tiny, map dot towns have seen played out all our lives. Ready to play this music for y’all and welcome you to Smokestack Town.”
Ole 60’s current headline tour, the U.S. 2025 Tour, is nearly sold out, following a year of unprecedented touring highs. From opening for Zach Bryan across two nights at BST Hyde Park this summer, to their debut performance at Lollapalooza, their Opry debut, festival appearances including Sand In My Boots, Harley-Davidson Homecoming, a hometown stunner at Railbird Festival, Born & Raised festival this past weekend, and more, the band shows no signs of slowing down.
Ole 60 is expanding their current headlining run to include seven additional dates, including their first-ever arena headliner at Owensboro Sportscenter on New Year’s Eve.
