The song is his first in nearly a year
Rising country music artist and award-winning singer-songwriter Owen Riegling drops his new single “Taillight This Town,” available via Universal Music Canada and Big Loud Records stateside. The track marks his first release in nearly a year, capturing the energy of fresh starts and coming of age. Co-written with Jimi Bell (Brantley Gilbert, Jon Pardi, Luke Combs, Bailey Zimmerman), Kyle Sturrock (Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley), and produced in Nashville by hitmaker, Oscar Charles (Elvie Shane, Chase Rice).
“I’ve lived a lot of life since my last release—it’s been nearly a year filled with travel, new places and incredible people,” shares Riegling. “All of those experiences have shaped me into who I am, stepping into this next chapter. ‘Taillight This Town’ is a song about new beginnings, about leaving behind what’s familiar to chase something new, while still carrying the pieces of where you come from. I’m beyond excited to kick off this next chapter and share not just who I’ve grown into as an artist, but also as a person.”
Grounded in his small-town roots but built for a global stage, Riegling has quickly established himself as one of country music’s most exciting new voices. Since winning the 2022 Boots & Hearts Festival Emerging Artist Competition, the Mildmay, Ontario native achieved a platinum-certified hit with “Old Dirt Roads,” released his expanded EP Bruce County (From The Beginning), has earned three Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Awards including 2025 Album of the Year, and recently earned his first-ever Socan Country Music Award as performer for “Old Dirt Roads.” A relentless touring schedule — over 110 shows across Canada as a headliner and supporting act for Brett Young, Jake Owen, Tyler Hubbard (Florida Georgia Line), and Chase Rice — has sharpened his craft. Riegling hits the road opening for Kashus Culpepper and Hailey Whitters, and recently joined country superstar Luke Bryan on tour, further cementing his arrival as a next-generation force in country music.
