Osbourne chats with Billy Morrison about his current situation
Following a series of health setbacks in recent years, Ozzy Osbourne shares an update on the first 2025 episode of Ozzy Speaks on SiriusXM’s Ozzy’s Boneyard. The Ozzman tells co-host Billy Morrison that he’s slowly recovering.
“[T]he recovery is very slow. That fucking surgeon. Plus the Parkinson’s,” he tells Morrison. “When you get up in the morning, you just jump outta bed. Oh, I have to balance myself, you know? But you know, I’m not dead, as you say. I’m still actively doing things.”
Osbourne also discusses sobriety, funny movies, and touring with Def Leppard while playing their new song, “Gods of Rock N Roll,” and more.
“You know what Billy, I go on about the way I can’t walk and I can’t do this. But you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I’m still alive,” Osbourne adds. “I may be moaning that I can’t walk as well…but as I look down the road, there’s people that didn’t do half as much as me and they didn’t make it.”
Osbourne has been battling a barrage of health issues, including surgery from an injury he suffered after contracting pneumonia in 2019, a Parkinson’s diagnosis and other ailments. In early 2023, Osbourne was forced to cancel the European and UK leg of his No More Tours 2 2023 and his retirement from touring due to his declining health. His health also forced him to cancel an appearance at the Power Trip that fall. Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi confirmed that the legendary group turned down an appearance at Power Trip, due to concerns over Ozzy’s health.
The health update comes a week after Black Sabbath announced a final show with Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward. The band will take to the stage to headline the all-star Back to the Beginning on July 5th at Villa Park for a benefit concert for Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice, a Children’s Hospice supported by Aston Villa.
Back to the Beginning will feature Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice In Chains, Lamb Of God, Anthrax, and Mastodon sets.
