I Wanna Rock: The ’80s Metal Dream premieres this summer
Paramount+ has announced that the new three-part docu-series I Wanna Rock: The ’80s Metal Dream will premiere exclusively on the service Tuesday, July 18th in the US and Canada and internationally on Wednesday, July 19th in the UK and Australia, with further international markets to follow later this summer. Members of Vixen, Winger, Skid Row, Twisted Sister and others will be featured in the series.
Hairspray. Spandex. Leather pants. The series follows five young dreamers chasing stardom in the cutthroat world of ’80s metal. Some will succeed, some will fail, but each will make you see an entirely new side of the metal genre.
Episode one, entitled, “I Wanna Be Somebody,” follows five rockers who set out to make it in the world of hair spray and spandex as ’80s metal fever sweeps America.
Episode two, “Headed for Heartbreak,” follows the personal demons, sexism and Congress the rockers face as metal hits new heights.
Episode three, “Smells Like Change,” sees the rockers fighting for survival as country and grunge change musical tastes. Some will make it, some won’t … but all will be changed forever.
