McBride is latest artist to partner with independent publishing powerhouse

Martina McBride is the latest legendary artist to partner with Primary Wave Music. The deal will see the independent publishing powerhouse acquire a stake in the award winner’s master royalties for her first ten albums released by Sony, as well as master copyrights for her 2014 release Everlasting and 2018’s It’s the Holiday Season.

The partnership includes a number of the Grammy nominee’s biggest hits across her incomparable 30+ year career. Songs include her 1993 hit “Independence Day,” first No. 1 single from 1995 “Wild Angels,” second chart-topper “A Broken Wing,” and the top 5 hit, “This One’s for the Girls.”

McBride’s 2018 and top-ten holiday release, It’s the Holiday Season, is a welcome addition to Primary Wave Music’s growing roster of holiday classics. The nine-track album features her versions of “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Winter Wonderland,” and more. A fan favorite, the album also saw incredible response from the critics.

McBride’s partnership with Primary Wave Music will now give her access to the Primary Wave marketing, digital and branding teams, as well as the publishing infrastructure which includes licensing and synch opportunities.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

McBride has sold over 23 million albums to date, which includes 20 Top 10 singles and six No. 1 hits. McBride has released 13 studio albums and has earned more than 15 major music awards, including four wins for Female Vocalist of the Year from the Country Music Association, and won three Academy of Country Music for Top Female Vocalist. McBride has been awarded 14 Gold Records, nine Platinum honors, three 2x Platinum records, and two 3x Platinum awards. McBride is also the author of two cookbooks.

McBride was awarded the Covenant House Beacon of Hope Award and Music Business Association’s prestigious 2015 Harry Chapin Memorial Humanitarian Award for her philanthropic efforts on behalf of domestic violence. Through her Team Music Is Love charity initiative, the country star partners with non-profit causes to help many of the towns she’s performing in. McBride also invites fans to join her team in making the world a better place through the power of music. Since 2011, Team Music Is Love has been responsible for many successful fundraising and volunteer projects helping causes such as hunger relief, cancer research, combating domestic violence and helping children in need.
