Her guest appearance is during the show’s third season

Reba McEntire is making her return to TV as a guest star in the CBS single-camera comedy Young Sheldon, airing Thursdays at 8 pm ET/PT. McEntire will guest star in a February episode of the Big Bang Theory prequel series. The show stars Ian Armitage as the title character, Zoe Perry as Sheldon’s mom Mary Cooper, Lance Barber as George Cooper Sr., and Jim Parsons as the voice of adult Sheldon.

McEntire will play June, the “fun and fiery” ex-wife of Craig T. Nelson’s Dale Ballard. She strikes up an unlikely friendship with Meemaw, played by Annie Potts, who is currently dating the little league coach.

Melissa Peterman, who previously starred along side the country superstar in her eponymous sitcom Reba from 2001-2007 on The WB/CW, currently plays neighbor Brenda Sparks on Young Sheldon. Neither actress will cross paths during McEntire’s guest role.

Besides Reba, McEntire toplined Malibu Country with Lily Tomlin for one season on ABC in 2012-2013. She has since made guest appearances in Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing, Peterman’s Baby Daddy and the Jami Gertz starring The Neighbors. In 2017, McEntire shot a pilot with producer Marc Cherry for ABC called Red Blooded, described as a “Southern Gothic soap opera” starring McEntire as a small town sheriff. The network ultimately passed, but Cherry is said to be interested in re-shopping the series to streaming outlets for a better fit.

McEntire can currently be seen on the big screen boss lady Joyless in the film Spies in Disguise. The Fox Animation feature also voice stars Tom Holland, Ben Mendelsohn, Karen Gillan, Rashida Jones, DJ Khaled and Masi Oka with Will Smith leading the cast as Lance Sterling, the world’s most awesome spy.

This spring, McEntire can be seen on the road in a headline run of arena dates in 2020. She will bring rising singer/songwriter Caylee Hammack along across a dozen cities kicking off March 20th and culminating May 9th. For the first time ever, Reba will also be offering fans the opportunity to purchase VIP experience packages outside of her Vegas residencies including a meet & greet with the country music icon, premium seating, access to the “Fancy” Lounge with food, drinks and a special exhibit featuring memorabilia spanning her impressive career, exclusive merchandise and more.

In between tour dates, she can be seen with Brooks & Dunn as they return for the fifth year of their Reba, Brooks & Dunn: Together in Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The country superstar trio will return for 24 more dates in April, June, October and December 2020.
