Record Store Day announces 15th birthday

RSD returns to original one day event in Apr 2022

Record Store Day will celebrate its 15th birthday in 2022. The event returns on April 23rd to celebrate brick-and-mortar indie record stores. Record Store Day is the largest single-day music event in the world.

“We’re looking forward to the 15th annual celebration of the brick-and-mortar record store, the people inside those walls, and the music, art and entertainment you take home from them,” organizers share. “We can’t wait for Record Store Day, the party that’s become the Largest Single Day Music Event In The World. Record Store Day is April 23, 2022.”

Record Store Day launched RSD Drops in 2020 where it spread the release of titles over three months to follow social distancing guidelines put forth during COVID-19. It continued for 2021 where The List was spread out over two months to avoid excessive gathering due to social distancing mandates.

Further details, including The List and who will be named RSD Ambassador 2022, will be released in the coming months.
