Rhino announces Start Your Ear Off Right 2023 indie vinyl releases

Annual campaign sees limited edition releases through January

This January, Rhino will be releasing limited edition color and black vinyl as part of their annual Start Your Ear Off Right 2023 indie retail campaign. A total of 19 vinyl releases throughout rock, soul and jazz will be available at independent record stores and many Barnes & Noble locations and online.

Releases by John Coltrane, Billy Cobham, Yes, The Velvet Underground, Genesis, The Ramones, ZZ Top, Johnny Thunders, Warren Zevon, Otis Redding, Gerry Rafferty and Dire Straits are available now.

January 20th will see The B-52’s Whammy! 40th Anniversary Edition pressed on green & black splatter vinyl; Chicago’s Chicago IX: Chicago’s Greatest Hits released as a picture disc; and Hot Tuna’s Burgers: 50th Anniversary come as a colored vinyl. A special limited edition pressing of Bobby Weir’s Ace (50th Anniversary) will be available on translucent red vinyl and limited to 5,000 copies.

January 27th sees the final trio of releases from Curtis Mayfield and The Cure. Mayfield’s 1970 debut, Curtis, and 1971’s Curtis/Live! will be available as a 2 LP colored vinyl reissue on burgundy and single colored vinyl reissue on light blue, respectively. The Cure’s Wish will see the 30th anniversary edition with newly remastered audio be available on 2 LP black vinyl.
