Riley Green releases ‘Ol’ Stray Dog’ through Apple Music

The “Lost” song is available with an original demo by Erik Dylan & Jon Randall

Apple Music’s Lost & Found, the acclaimed program that puts the spotlight on Nashville songwriters by uncovering standout country tracks that were never released, rounds out this month’s release with Riley Green’s version of “Ol’ Stray Dog,” produced by Dann Huff. The “Found” track follows the “Lost” demo released earlier this week from songwriters Erik Dylan and Jon Randall. Originally written in January 2019, both versions are available exclusively on Apple Music now.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of Erik,” states Green. “He knows my style of music, and ‘Ol’ Stray Dog’ was certainly one of those that was right up my alley. Lost & Found has given us another motivation to go find songs.”

“I absolutely love that Riley liked this song enough to try it on,” adds Randall. “I may be partial because I’m a fan, but I think it fits him like a glove. I sure am thankful that it landed in his world. I guess sometimes an old stray dog can find a home.”

“Riley’s the guy on this,” continues Dylan. “He’s for sure the guy, he sounds like he wrote it, he sounds like he’s lived it.”

Lost & Found began its second season last month with “End Of The Night.” The “Lost” demo was written and recorded by Toby Keith alongside Bobby Pinson and David Lee Murphy in 2015, with Ernest recording the “Found” version. Lost & Found offers unprecedented access into the world of country songwriting, releasing the original demo tracks (“Lost”) followed by their newly recorded, star-studded counterparts (“Found”). Every month will bring a new song from the vault. With Lost & Found, Apple Music mines the vaults and pairs tracks with pitch-perfect rising or established artists to record official single releases, in incredible Spatial Audio.
