The new project will be unveiled on September 6th

The Rolling Stones confirm they’ll release their first album of all new material in 18 years entitled Hackney Diamonds. The band will share details of the release during a live stream event on Wednesday, September 6th from East London’s Hackney district, where Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood will be interviewed live by The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon on YouTube at 2:30 pm BST/9:30 am ET/6:30 am PT.

“Hackney may be at the heart of Hackney Diamonds, but this is a truly global moment we want to share with fans around the world via YouTube,” the Rolling Stones share in a statement.

The album will be the band’s first since losing drummer Charlie Watts in 2021 and will feature Watts in some capacity. It’s also been teased that original bassist Bill Wyman, Paul McCartney and Elton John all make guest appearances on the project that was produced by Grammy Award-winning Andrew Watts.

The Stones shared cryptic teasers which featured the band’s iconic mouth and tongue logo projected onto facades around the world.

The project is the band’s first studio album since 2016’s blues cover album, Blue and Lonesome, and their first of new material since 2005’s A Bigger Bang.
