The tour bus slid off the road due to inclement weather

Thirteen members of Shania Twain’s touring crew were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries today (Wed, Nov 8th) following a traffic accident involving their tour bus in Canada. The incident happened in between dates of her Queen of Me Tour in her home country.

Police report the accident happened around 7 am local time on Highway 1 near Wolseley, Saskatchewan, when the tour bus and a truck rolled off the road due to ice. The tour bus company claims was caused by “black ice on the roadway.”

Twain’s management firm, Maverick, confirms the accident was caused by inclement weather.

“One crew bus and one truck from the Shania Twain – Queen Of Me Tour were involved in a highway accident driving between Winnipeg and Saskatoon,” Maverick Management tells People. “Multiple vehicles encountered dangerous driving conditions due to inclement weather. Members of the production crew who require medical attention have been taken to nearby hospitals. We are incredibly thankful to the emergency services teams for their quick response and ongoing support. We ask for patience as we look after our touring family.”

Twain was not on the bus at the time.

The tour is set to continue on Thursday with a show in Saskatoon, about 200 miles from the accident site. It’s unclear if that show will be performed as scheduled.

Twain is currently on the Canadian leg of the trek which wraps the tour on November 14th in Vancouver.

The country-pop icon will return to Las Vegas in May 2024 with her Shania Twain: Come On Over: The Las Vegas Residency – All The Hits! opening at Bakkt Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Twenty-four performances are set through December of next year.
