Slash teases future Guns N Roses plans

The rocker says US dates are in the works

Slash has teased what’s ahead for Guns N’ Roses. The iconic guitarist recently spoke with Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation. During the conversation, he reveals that the 80s rockers will be announcing a US tour soon.

“I can say, we’re definitely doing a US run next year,” he says in response to Trunk asking about US dates. “It’ll be coming soon, so I can safely say that that’s happening. So we’ve been doing a bunch of international stuff all year, so we have to come back to the States, so we planned for next year.”

Slaso also says that he would be hesitant to play at the Las Vegas Sphere because it’s not the right environment for a rock and roll show.

“I mean, I haven’t been yet, but just everything that I’ve seen or most everything that I’ve seen of it looks amazing,” he states. “I’m real trepidatious about playing there because it’s a great visual show. I think that in almost every case, for a band, it becomes a visual show as opposed to seeing a rock and roll show. So there’s that. And also from talking to Joe Walsh about it, because you know, obviously, The Eagles have been doing a residency there since forever. Is that it’s not really sort of rock and roll friendly the way that it’s set up. So it’s just one of those things where it’s like, it seems like a really cool thing and conceptually there’s probably a lot of cool things that you could do, but I don’t think it would be the right environment for a proper rock and roll show.”

SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation, hosted by Eddie Trunk, airs daily at 3 pm ET on SiriusXM’s Faction Talk and on demand on the SXM app.

Earlier this month, Slash also confirmed that new GNR music is on the way. While the band has previously released four tracks in the wake of their 2016 reunion—”Absurd,” “Hard Skool,” “Perhaps,” and “The General,” which were reworked tracks from the Chinese Democracy era—fans have been eagerly awaiting a full new album.

“It’s coming. I know it’s coming because everybody is thinking about it,” he recently told Guitar World. “There’s so much material at this point — it’s a matter of having the discipline to sit down and fucking get into it.”

No timeline or official release date has been set.

In the meantime, Slash will release Live at the S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival, an electrifying blues-filled live album and concert film. Raw, unfiltered, and steeped in the spirit of the Delta blues, the track captures Slash and his Blues Ball band in their element. The album and concert film were captured live at the Mission Ballroom in Denver, CO during the July 17, 2024 tour stop of Slash’s star-studded Blues tour, the inaugural S.E.R.P.E.N.T Festival, an acronym which stands for Solidarity, Engagement, Restore, Peace, Equality N’ Tolerance.
