$uicideboy$ share three-song EP

I No Longer Fear the Razor Guarding My Head (V) drops ahead of new tour

G*59 Record$ New Orleans duo $uicideboy$ are sharing their three-song EP I No Longer Fear The Razor Guarding My Heel (V), which marks the fifth installment of their acclaimed series that originated in 2015. The collection is renowned for its introspective lyrical content that sheds light on various issues, including addiction, mental health, and societal struggles. Produced by $uicideboy$ member $crim, the tracks include “Not Even Ghosts Are This Empty,” “Finding Shelter In My Larynx,” and “A Little Trauma Can Be Illuminating, And I’m Shining Like The Sun.” Previous releases in the series include three three-song EPs and a track from their 2018 album I Want To Die In New Orleans, which, combined, have amassed over 500 million streams on Spotify alone.

The EP follows a prolific year for the cousin duo, which includes a four-part EP series, the Yin Yang Tapes, released in May accompanied by a collection of Japan-inspired animated music videos created by famed animator Tristan Zammit (known for working with artists like XXXTentacion, Lil Uzi Vert, Juice WRLD). The four EPs include Spring Season (1989-1990), Summer Season (1989-1990), Fall Season (1989-1990) and Winter Season (1989-1990). Additionally, they had a joint EP with G*59 Record$ labelmate Shakewell, entitled Shameless $uicide, which was released in February. And $uicideboy$ member, Ruby da Cherry, debuted a solo punk-pop project under his alias DUCKBOY, titled “tragic love songs to study to [vol. 5],” which came out in July. Music from these releases have gained over 100 million streams and debuted on both Spotify’s Top 10 Songs Debut Chart and Spotify’s Top 10 Albums Debut Chart.

On August 25th, $uicideboy$ will embark on an arena and amphitheater tour, bringing their catchy apocalyptic vision of hip hop, pierced with punk intensity, to over 40 cities across the United States. The tour will feature performances such as two nights at The Kia Forum in Los Angeles, two nights at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, and their first-ever show at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York. The support acts on the tour will include Ghostemane, City Morgue, Freddie Dredd (on select dates), Sematary, and Ramirez.

In 2022, the punk-rap titans achieved remarkable success, ranking in the Top 30 list of most-streamed artists across all genres and making it to the Top 100 list of most-streamed artists of all time, amassing an impressive 15 billion career streams. Their latest official full-length LP, Sing Me A Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation, continued their streak of success by becoming their third consecutive album to debut in the Top 10 of the Billboard Top 200 chart. Following the project, the NOLA duo headlined their annual Grey Day Tour 2022, which turned out to be a massive hit. The tour spanned over 50 dates, selling out arenas and amphitheaters in both the US and Europe, with a staggering total of over 400,000 tickets sold. They finished the tour with a performance as a top-billed act at the Coachella Music Festival.
