Taylor Swift tops RIAA Year-End List, Shaboozey leads Class of 2024

The annual round-up of US certifications boasts 65 first-time artists

Celebrating the cultural and commercial impact of music in the US since 1958, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) recognizes artists whose creativity connects with generations of fans in more ways than ever before and reaches significant streaming and sales thresholds. The Year-End round-up of top albums and singles and RIAA’s Class Of 2024 welcomed 65 artists earning their first Gold & Platinum certifications.

Highlights include 16 albums and 69 singles released and #RIAATopCertified in 2024 commanded playlists on repeat.

Taylor Swift dominated the Year-End list with the highest certification level and Top Album for six-time platinum The Tortured Poets Department released on Republic Records

Earning both the Year-End Top Single and highest Class Of 2024 certification, Shaboozey had the winning mix with five-time platinum “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” via American Dogwood/Empire.

Billie Eilish earned the most certified titles with ten – platinum album Hit Me Hard and Soft, plus singles: quadruple platinum “Birds of a Feather;” platinum “Lunch,” “Chihiro,” “Wildflower” and gold “Skinny,” “Blue, “The Greatest,” “L’Amour De Ma Vie” and “The Diner” released via Darkroom/Interscope Records

The fastest certification on Year-End was Jason Derulo’s Nu King on Atlantic Records (album hit gold on release day) and Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” on American Dogwood/Empire, now a five-time platinum single was first certified just 31 days after release, for Class Of.

Across both lists, there were 36 artist collaborations.

YG Marley has the only Reggae certification on the Class of 2024 and Year-End lists with the platinum single “Praise Jah in the Moonlight” released from YG Marley Music/Hitmaker Distro.

Sixty-five first-time artists across five albums and 69 singles were introduced into the Class Of 2024.

BossMan Dlow (gold album Mr. Beat the Road and platinum “Get in With Me,” gold “Finesse,” “Mr. Pot Scraper” and “Talk My Shit” singles on Alamo Records; Odetari [gold singles “GMFU (with 6arelyhuman,” “Good Loyal Thots,” “I Love You Hoe (with 9Lives),” “Look Don’t Touch (with Cade Claire) and “Narcissistic Personality Disorder” via Artist Partner Group] and Sexxy Redd [gold album Hood Hottest Princess (Deluxe) and platinum singles “Skeeyee,” “Pound Down” with Tay Keith and “Get It Sexxy” on Rebel Music + Glorilla’s gold single “Whatchu Kno Bout Me” (featuring Sexxy Red)] usher in their Class Of 2024 status with a tie for the most certified titles at five each.

On the Class Of 2024 list, Tommy Richman has the highest hip-hop certification with quadruple platinum “Million Dollar Baby” released through ISO Supremacy/Pulse Records.

RIAA surprised Alana Springsteen (gold single “Goodbye Looks Good On You” featuring Mitchell Tenpenny via Columbia) and Dasha [platinum single “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’)” via Warner Records] during Nashville tour stops and Floyymenor (double platinum “Gata Only” via UnitedMasters) at the Empire State Building with their Class Of 2024 plaques.

Only six new titles by first-timers were certified multi-platinum; 20 platinum for surpassing one million units and 48 gold for reaching 500,000 units (sales + streaming equivalents). Twenty-nine R&B/hip-hop, 15 country, 11 dance/electronic, 11 pop, four Latin, three alternative, and one reggae titles from the #RIAAClassOf 2024 were added to the prestigious Gold & Platinum program.

Premios de Oro y Platino certifications for music with more than 50% Spanish language found RIAA Class Of 2023 alum Peso Pluma with the 2024 Year-End Top Latin Album for 11x platinum Exodo (Double P Records) while 27x platinum “Harley Quinn” (Rancho Humilde/Street Mob Records/Joytime Collective. Distributed By Sony Music Entertainment US Latin LLC) from Fuerza Regida & Marshmello take the Top Latin Single.
