The haunting track is available now

Multi-platinum-selling singer/songwriter/producer Tom Odell has shared his latest track “The End” available via UROK. The subtly intense track is the latest to be unveiled from his forthcoming new album, Black Friday, set for release on January 26, 2024.

“The End” is the closing track on Odell’s upcoming new album, and was co-written by Tom and his longtime collaborator, Cityfall. “The End” exudes a haunting sparseness, with crystalline piano and understated vocals sprinkled throughout, leaving an indelible mark on the listener, and further demonstrating his impactful storytelling and masterful songwriter skills.

No stranger to having a lasting viral impact, Tom Odell is currently having a moment with “The End” on TikTok. When he began previewing the track, the immediate reaction was palpable, with the song acting as the soundtrack for fans’ own personal sobriety journeys on the platform. With over 20k videos created and counting, “The End” resonated worldwide well ahead of its official release.

“‘The End’ first presented itself as a piano melody, which was originally inspired by having a panic attack—that’s where that line ‘give me back my oxygen’ came from…. Ultimately, it’s a song about the finality of love, which felt like an interesting place to end the whole album,” Odell shares.

The globally beloved British musician’s forthcoming sixth full-length brings his exquisitely candid lyricism to a lived-in meditation of the infinite complexity of love and relationships. More highlights from Odell’s upcoming album include “Somebody Else,” “Answer Phone” and the monster title track “Black Friday,” which propelled Tom into the top 100 most streamed artists in the world. “Black Friday” racked up two million streams in its first day alone, and 50+ million streams to date. Fan content on TikTok has garnered over 150 million views on the platform.

Odell recently played his biggest North American tour this fall to sold-out houses in LA, New York, San Francisco, Nashville, Philadelphia and more. Incredible demand upon the dates being announced resulted in venue upgrades and shows added wherever his schedule would allow, with many dates selling out months in advance.

Winner of the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award and the Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter of the Year, Odell has released five studio albums that have earned him 27 million monthly listeners on Spotify, four billion career streams, and a social media reach of eight million across all platforms. In 2022 his previously released track, “Another Love,” racked up over two billion streams and landed in the Top 40 most streamed songs on Spotify.
