Kelly is recovering from blood clots

Tori Kelly has been discharged from the hospital a week after being hospitalized and treated for blood clots. The pop and gospel artist was released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills today (Mon, July 31st) where she’s now resting at home, according to TMZ.

Late last Sunday (July 23rd), the 30-year-old Kelly was admitted into ICU after passing out while at dinner with friends in Los Angeles. Friends opted to carry her to a car where they rushed her to Beverly Hills to be treated at one of the most premier hospitals in the country instead of being treated in Downtown LA. Sources say the “Unbreakable Smile” singer was “out for a while.”

Kelly was admitted to the ICU where doctors discovered the blood clots affecting her legs, lungs and heart. Reports say Kelly has drifted in and out of consciousness during her hospital stay. Doctors are still uncertain what caused the clots, but will be monitoring the singer regularly.

Kelly released her new seven-track EP, Tori, via Epic Records on Friday, July 28th. Kelly says she opted to still release the project despite being hospitalized.

“Of course I’m heartbroken about all of the things I had planned for this week of releasing my EP, but I know my health must come first,” she shared last week as she updated fans about her health. “Until I see you again, I still want you to enjoy a project that represents the happy place I’ve been in the last few years. I won’t let this hurdle prevent the music from being yours on Friday!

The project follows the recent critically acclaimed lead single “Missin U,” and heralds the beginning of a new chapter for the superstar. It marks the first original body of work from the pop star since 2020.
