Kelly shares handwritten letter on social media

Tori Kelly is speaking out for the first time since her hospitalization late Sunday. The gospel and pop singer is still being treated for blood clots after passing out while at dinner with friends in Los Angeles. Kelly shares a handwritten letter on social media, stating she’s still awaiting some answers.

“As you may have heard, I’m dealing with some unexpected health challenges. It’s been a scary few days but I can feel your prayers and can’t stop thinking about you. I’m feeling stronger now and hopeful but unfortunately there are still some things to uncover. I’m so grateful for the amazing doctors and nurses who have been looking after me,” she writes.

“Of course I’m heartbroken about all of the things I had planned for this week of releasing my EP, but I know my health must come first. Until I see you again, I still want you to enjoy a project that represents the happy place I’ve been in the last few years. I won’t let this hurdle prevent the music from being yours on Friday!

“I love you all so much and I am truly overwhelmed by all of the love and care I have received. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Love, Tori”

Kelly is currently being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Sources say she was “out for a while” and friends opted to carry her to a car where they rushed her to Beverly Hills to be treated at one of the most premier hospitals in the country.

The 30-year-old Kelly was admitted into ICU where doctor’s discovered clots in her legs and lungs. TMZ reports doctors have found clots around her heart and are keeping her while they investigate. Reports say Kelly has drifted in and out of consciousness during her hospital stay.

On Wednesday, her husband, André Murillo, shared, a promising update on his social media channels.

“Tori is smiling again and feeling stronger. Not fully out of the woods but we see the sun. Just waiting on a few more answers,” he shares. “Your love and kindness has been overwhelming. Thank you so so much!”

Kelly will release her new seven-track EP, Tori, on Friday, July 28th via Epic Records. The project follows the recent critically acclaimed lead single “Missin U,” and heralds the beginning of a new chapter for the superstar. It marks the first original body of work from the pop star since 2020.
