‘Twister’ score gets expanded reissue

Nearly 21 years after the blockbuster film Twister, starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton, was released, the film’s score gets an expanded reissue on CD. La-La Land Records, Warner Music Group, Warner Bros. Pictures and Amblin Entertainment have announced Twister: Expanded Archival Edition will be available on January 17th at noon PST via its online store as a 20th Anniversary Edition. Only 3,000 copies are being pressed.

The score has been newly remastered and expanded by producers Mike Matessino and Dan Goldwasser, fixing all errors from the previous release. While not the film’s soundtrack that featured music from Shania Twain and Van Halen, the final track does feature music written and performed by Eddie and Alex Van Halen.

Liner notes were written by Tim Greiving and feature new interviews with composer Mark Mancina and director Jan De Bont.
