The Brian Wheat band releases its fourth single
Alternative rock band Violet Breed released their fourth single, “Stay Away.” The track features an electrifying collaboration with Brian Wheat, founder and bassist of the multi-platinum selling rock band Tesla, and rising singer-songwriter Alex.
“Stay Away” hits with raw emotion and heavy alt-rock energy. Fueled by ’90s grunge grit and modern alternative edge, it tells the story of loving someone determined to push you away to protect you. Gritty guitars, explosive drums, and a hook that sticks. Think Nirvana meets My Chemical Romance with the rawness of Yungblud and Wunderhorse. “With our latest song ‘Stay Away’, I think we’ve really captured a new darkness in our writing and overall sound. Brian has really pushed the boundaries with the production on this new track. It’s sonically heavier and grittier than anything we’ve released. It sounds huge!” Alex shares. “It’s probably the most relatable and personal song we’ve released, too. It’s a song about how you would do anything possible to save someone from self-destruction. It could be a partnership, a family member or even a friend. There’s a fear of losing someone forever. But ultimately in the end, whoever this person may be, they choose to remain isolated from you emotionally and self-destruct, because they can’t bear to see you fall alongside them as well. So they quite simply stay away…”
Brian Wheat adds, “The song is a perfect melding of classic and modern sound.”
The release follows the band’s strong momentum, building on the success of their first three singles. “Awake” reached No. 14 on the SMR Charts and No. 28 on Mediabase Activator. “10 Years Sober” charted at No. 24 on SMR and No. 36 on Mediabase Activator. “Endless Days” reached No. 18 on the SMR Charts and No. 37 on Mediabase Activator.
The first three music videos have surpassed 650k views.
