The country star will be absent for three nights
Due to illness, Willie Nelson will miss the opening weekend of his 2024 Outlaw Music Festival. His team shared the news on Friday (June 21st) on social media, stating the weekend’s shows will continue with the rest of the lineup.
“We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well, and per doctor’s orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days. He is expected to make a quick recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week,” the statement reads. “In the meantime, Lukas Nelson and the Family Band, along with a few guests, will perform a special set to include Willie’s classics and other songs. Bob Dylan, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss and Celisse will continue to perform as scheduled.”
The 91-year-old country legend is one of the headliners of the annual event, which made its debut in 2016. The trek kicks off tonight in Alpharetta, Georgia with shows in Charlotte, NC tomorrow (Sat, June 22nd), and Raleigh, NC on Sunday (June 23rd).
The rotating traveling festival lineup continues through the fall with John Mellencamp, Southern Avenue, and Billy Strings on select dates.
