Song is the title track of the group’s first mini-album
Girl group XG releases the official music video of “New Dance,” the title track of its first mini-album New DNA. The single follows the pre-releases “GRL GVNG” and “TGIF.”
The song shows XG’s vibrant and relaxed side, which conquers listeners with a will to enjoy the rhythm of “New Dance.” The dancing track has a catchy chorus that reflects the freeing message to have fun and dance like no one’s watching.
The first track of the mini-album, “GRL GVNG” showed XG coming from space; “TGIF” showed the septet’s evolution. Now, “New Dance” shows the group exploring Earth. From a majestic sunset to rooftops with a blue sky as the background, XG enjoys the best of the world in the video clip of the new summer track.
The new era continues with many achievements and XG was announced as Apple Music’s Up Next Global Artist, an initiative to discover and promote new talents worldwide. This is the first time a Japanese group has been chosen for the program that already had featured talents such as 6lack, Daniel Caesar, Billie Eilish, Bad Bunny, and Khalid.
In a video released specially for Apple Music’s Up Next, XG’s members talked about their unique training journeys. Besides that, in the interview with Brooke Reese, the septet commented about the new release of “New Dance” and of the mini-album and their more than promising future.
The checkmate of the new era is scheduled for September 27th, with the release of the mini-album. Fans are already looking forward to discovering the grandiosity that the septet will show this time.
XG’s newest mini-album incorporates the septet’s declaration to be a new lineage, without limits and barriers. With graphic artwork representing cell divisions, it features the album’s six songs, which signify the group’s evolution. “New DNA” is a visual and sonic manifesto that showcases the heart of XG’s artistic journey.
XG, an abbreviation for Xtraordinary Girls, is a seven-member girl group with influences from hip hop and R&B. The group consists of Jurin, Chisa, Harvey, Hinata, Juria, Maya and Cocona. On March 18, 2022, they became the first artists to debut under the XGALX label. XG aims to empower young people worldwide with innovative songs and performances regardless of their life paths.
