YG drops ‘Hollywood’

The track features Shoreline Mafia and was produced by Ty Dolla $ign

Multi-platinum recording artist YG returns with his new single, “Hollywood,” featuring Shoreline Mafia, produced by longtime collaborator Ty Dolla $ign. The track is the second release from his forthcoming project, The Gentleman’s Club, and arrives just in time for the summer.

With its upbeat West Coast sound, “Hollywood” carries a balance between confidence and fun. The hook “This some West Coast shit you can’t fuck with / South Central all the way to Sunset” feels like both a declaration and an inside nod to anyone who knows the city. Shoreline Mafia adds their usual raw presence, while Ty Dolla $ign lays down a smooth but bouncy beat that lets the track ride. “Hollywood” is a full-circle moment for the duo and is the first track produced by Ty since their breakout hit “Toot It and Boot It,” released over a decade ago. The song is a reminder that even as YG evolves, the West is still home.

Alongside the single, YG dropped the official music video, which leans into the Gentlemen’s Club storyline seen in his last video for “2004.” YG and Shoreline Mafia arrive in a black limo, dressed in all-black suits, confidently setting the tone. YG steps out of the limo carrying a takeout bag from The Marathon Burger, the burger spot founded by the late Nipsey Hussle, a quiet nod to legacy and community. The video also features a cameo from Ty Dolla $ign and a crew of dancers styled in classic Gentlemen’s Club look in black suits and dress shoes, echoing YG’s new aesthetic.
