On Saturday (Sept 27th), multi-Platinum, Grammy-winning artist Zach Bryan made history as the first artist ever to play at Michigan Stadium, for an audience of 112,408. With special guest John Mayer and support from Ryan Bingham, The Texas Gentlemen, and Joshua Slone, the largest ticketed show in U.S. history also set a merchandise sales record for $5 million.
Michigan Stadium is the largest stadium in the U.S. and the third largest in the world. While the stadium has previously held other sporting events, including soccer matches and college and professional hockey games, this was the first time an artist headlined a concert at The Big House.
Last year, Bryan released his latest studio album, The Great American Bar Scene. The album, which includes 19 tracks, features collaborations with artists like Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer, and John Moreland. The country star most recently released two collaborations with Kings of Leon.
Bryan is known for his raw, authentic songwriting and stripped-down sound, which has drawn comparisons to artists like Bob Dylan and Townes Van Zandt. He has been recognized with awards, including a Grammy Award and an Academy of Country Music Award. His music has also been featured in the TV series Yellowstone.
