World’s leading cymbal maker will commemmorate four centuries of musical influence

Avedis Zildjian Co. (Zildjian), the world’s oldest maker of cymbals, has unveiled plans to honor its 400th anniversary with an all-star celebratory concert on September 20th. The company, which first began making cymbals in 1623, will host the unforgettable experience at Roadrunner in Boston and will feature artists that have played with the biggest names in music.

“We are thrilled to celebrate Zildjian’s milestone anniversary in our hometown with our closest family and friends.” states Zildjian Executive Chair, President, and 14th generation owner Craigie Zildjian. “This is a special opportunity to reflect not only on our history, but to share the excitement of what lies ahead.”

The Zildjian 400th Anniversary Concert will feature an evening of music and entertainment emceed by comedian, actor, producer, and drummer Fred Armisen. The night will also see the induction of Eddie Bayers, Terri Lyne Carrington, Dennis Chambers, Sheila E., Peter Erskine, Omar Hakim, Steve Smith, and Ringo Starr into the Zildjian Hall of Fame.

A charity auction to help raise money for MusiCares will also be held.

“This will truly be an unforgettable night, one that not only celebrates Zildjian’s legacy, but that points forward to the next 400 years of inspiring people to express themselves through music,” adds Zildjian CEO John Stephans. “This is also an incredible opportunity to share music with those who matter most – our employees, artists, and fans.”
