Jacobs was found dead in his Nashville home

Kyle Jacobs, the husband of country singer Kellie Pickler, has died by an apparent suicide. Nashville Metro police report that the fire department responded to the home of Jacobs and Pickler on Friday (Feb 17th) where they found the 49-year-old “deceased from an apparent gunshot self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom/office.”

Pickler reported that she was asleep when the incident happened but began looking for Jacobs after awakening and couldn’t find him. Her assistant called 911 after she and Pickler were unable to open the door where Jacobs was found.

Metro Police state, “His death is being investigated as an apparent suicide.”

Jacobs co-wrote songs with for his wife, Kelly Clarkson, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Lee Brice, Scotty McCreery, Darius Rucker, and others.

The pair eloped in 2011 after dating for more than a year. They starred in the CMT reality show, I Love Kellie Pickler, which focused on their relationship and careers. The show ran from 2015-2018.
